Australian Mathematics Competition Eligibility
The AMC is an inclusive event open to primary and secondary school students. Eligibility is determined by your school year level, with different papers for different age groups.
Competition Papers by Year Level
- Middle Primary
- Years 3 and 4
- Upper Primary
- Years 5 and 6
- Junior
- Years 7 and 8
- Intermediate
- Years 9 and 10
- Senior
- Years 11 and 12
Registration and Participation
Students must be enrolled in a registered school to participate. The competition is administered through schools, not by individual entry. Schools register their students with the Australian Maths Trust (AMT). While the competition is based on the Australian curriculum years, students from other countries can also participate through their schools, with year levels mapped appropriately. Students may attempt a paper for a higher division but not a lower one.
