UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge Eligibility
The SMC is aimed at students in their final two years of secondary education. Eligibility is determined by age and school year in the UK system.
Eligibility Criteria
- England & Wales
- Year 13 or below
- Northern Ireland
- Year 14 or below
- Scotland
- S6 or below
- Age Limit
- Must be within the age limit specified by UKMT for the year.
- Entry Method
- Through a registered school or college.
Special Cases and Further Information
Younger students who are not yet in these year groups are also permitted to enter the challenge if their school thinks it is appropriate. The definitive age and year group rules for any given year are published on the official UKMT website. Students who are home-schooled or whose school is not registered can contact the UKMT to enquire about making individual arrangements to sit the paper.
