Common Mistakes in CUET
Many students lose marks not from a lack of knowledge, but from simple errors in strategy and execution. Being aware of these common pitfalls can significantly improve your score.
Subject and Strategy Errors
- Ignoring NCERT textbooks for domain subjects. Treat NCERT books as your primary resource; the exam is based on them.
- Neglecting the Language or General Test sections. Dedicate regular time to all required sections, as they are often decisive.
- Choosing too many or the wrong domain subjects. Verify the exact subject requirements for your target courses and universities first.
- Focusing only on difficult topics. Ensure you have mastered the easy and moderate questions, which form the bulk of the paper.
- Not practicing with a timer for the computer-based test. Take mock tests on a computer to get used to the interface and time pressure.
- Guessing answers when there is negative marking. Attempt a question only if you are reasonably confident or can eliminate options.
