Common Mistakes in BITSAT
BITSAT's unique format of high speed and bonus questions can trap unprepared students. Avoiding these common errors is as important as knowing the syllabus.
Exam Strategy Pitfalls
- Spending too much time on a single difficult question. Set a time limit of about a minute per question and move on; return later if time permits.
- Ignoring the English and Logical Reasoning section during preparation. Practice this section regularly as it is high-scoring and can significantly improve your rank.
- Attempting the bonus questions before completing the main paper. Attempt the 12 bonus questions only after you have answered all 130 main questions.
- Making random guesses to increase the number of attempts. Guess only when you can confidently eliminate at least two options, as there is negative marking.
- Not having a time allocation plan for different sections. Decide on a time strategy for each section before the exam and practice it in mock tests.
- Forgetting to check units and signs in Physics and Chemistry calculations. Double-check all units and positive or negative signs before marking your final answer.
