JEE Advanced Syllabus
The JEE Advanced syllabus covers topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics taught in classes 11 and 12. It is a subset of the JEE Main syllabus, but questions test deeper conceptual understanding.
Physics
- Mechanics Covers kinematics, laws of motion, work, energy, power, rotational dynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Electromagnetism Includes electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effects of current, and electromagnetic induction.
- Optics Focuses on wave optics (interference, diffraction) and geometrical optics (reflection, refraction).
- Thermodynamics Deals with laws of thermodynamics, kinetic theory of gases, and modes of heat transfer.
- Modern Physics Includes dual nature of matter, atoms, nuclei, and basic semiconductor physics.
Chemistry
- Physical Chemistry Topics include atomic structure, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry.
- Organic Chemistry Emphasizes reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry, and properties of various functional groups.
- Inorganic Chemistry Focuses on chemical bonding, coordination compounds, and properties of p, d, and f-block elements.
- Qualitative Analysis Practical inorganic salt analysis, including identification of cations and anions, is a component.
Mathematics
- Algebra Includes complex numbers, quadratic equations, permutations, combinations, and probability.
- Calculus Covers functions, limits, continuity, differentiation, integration, and differential equations.
- Coordinate Geometry Involves straight lines, circles, parabolas, ellipses, and hyperbolas in two dimensions.
- Vectors and 3D Geometry Deals with vector algebra, and equations of straight lines and planes in three dimensions.
- Trigonometry Focuses on trigonometric identities, equations, inverse functions, and properties of triangles.
